POD Conducts a Clay-Based Psychosocial Support Activity for Mothers

The Palestinian Organization for Development (POD) conducted a psychosocial support activity titled “Clay Sculptures of Emotions,” designed to provide mothers with a safe and structured space for emotional expression.

During the activity, participants used clay to create sculptures representing feelings and personal experiences that may be difficult to express verbally. Their creations reflected a range of emotions, including pain, loss, resilience, and hope for the future.

The hands-on nature of the activity allowed the mothers to release psychological pressure and transform internal emotions into visible forms. It also encouraged reflection, communication, and recognition of the different experiences shared by the group.

The session concluded with a period of collective sharing and traditional chanting, which strengthened the atmosphere of connection and mutual support among the participants.

Through this activity, POD contributed to supporting mothers’ psychosocial well-being and providing an appropriate space for expression, stress relief, and social connection.

What was achieved?

  • The activity enabled mothers to express difficult emotions through clay in a safe and practical way. It supported stress relief, emotional reflection, communication, and mutual support among participants.
