Care, Community and Artivism Project Supports Children’s Psychosocial Well-Being through Art and Community Activities in Gaza

The Palestinian Organization for Development (POD) continues to implement activities under the Spanish Care, Community and Artivism project, providing children in Gaza with safe and supportive spaces for expression, creativity, play, and social interaction.

The project combines psychosocial support with artistic and community-based activities designed to respond to children’s emotional and social needs. Through drawing, creative exercises, group activities, and other interactive approaches, children are encouraged to express their feelings, communicate with others, explore their abilities, and participate in positive shared experiences.

These activities are particularly important in an environment where children continue to face significant pressures and disruption to their daily lives. Providing structured and age-appropriate spaces for expression and interaction helps children remain connected with their peers and engage in activities that support their psychosocial well-being.

The project also recognizes that art can serve as a practical tool for communication and emotional expression, particularly when children find it difficult to describe their experiences through words alone.

Through the Care, Community and Artivism project, POD contributes to creating safer environments for children, strengthening their social connections, and supporting their continued development and participation despite the challenges they face.
