Free Drawing Session Supports Emotional Expression among Male Caregivers
A free drawing session was conducted for male caregivers as part of psychosocial support activities designed to respond to the pressures associated with continuous caregiving responsibilities.
The session provided participants with a safe and non-judgmental space to express feelings that may be difficult to communicate verbally. Using colors, shapes, and freely selected drawing methods, the men were encouraged to focus on the creative process without being restricted by artistic rules or evaluated according to technical ability.
The activity also offered participants an opportunity to pause, relax, and redirect their attention away from daily pressures. Sharing the space with other male caregivers who face similar responsibilities helped strengthen communication, connection, and peer support.
Through this activity, the Palestinian Organization for Development contributed to supporting the psychosocial well-being of male caregivers and recognizing their need for safe spaces for emotional expression and stress relief.
What was achieved?
- The session enabled male caregivers to express emotions through drawing in a safe and non-judgmental environment. It supported relaxation, stress relief, social connection, and peer support among participants with similar caregiving experiences.
